Highlights from Aqua Nor 2023

This years Aqua Nor has been better than ever! Thank you to all the exhibitors and to all of you who have visited the exhibition! The exhibition has been well visited, and we have set a new record for visitors on a single exhibition day. The halls have been crawling with people, we have had interesting conversations, exciting lectures, and engaging debates and discussions at this year’s exhibition.

CEO of the Nor-Fishing Foundation, Kristian Digre, and Exhibition General Kari Steinsbø, has this to say about Aqua Nor 2023:

– There are several things that sum up this year’s Aqua Nor. We have had a fantastic atmosphere at this year’s exhibition- and we can see that everyone really enjoyed it. Many have signed major contracts – and this underlines Aqua Nor’s role as the industry’s most important meeting place – a place for both “business and pleasure”. This year we have also noticed that the level of the stands has been very good, and we appreciate that so many people have put a lot of work into making their stand, and thus Aqua Nor, even better.”

Monday – The Aqua Nor-conference

On Monday, the professional conference “More food from the oceans. Contributing to the green shift through expanding aquaculture production” took place at Clarion Hotel Trondheim. The conference was completely packed with people – and we are very satisfied with the turnout. Thank you to everyone in the audience and the skilled speakers .

Tuesday

The opening of Aqua Nor was marked with a grand opening ceremony, where the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy in Norway, Bjørnar Skjæran, opened this year’s exhibition.

Among the highlights of the day was a heated debate on the infamous “salmon tax” and the grand opening of the Scottish Pavilion – where no expense was spared, with both bagpipe music and good food.

Wednesday

On the second day of the exhibition, the weather became fantastic and the sun was shining. With 9,013 visitors, we also set a clear visitor record on an exhibition day ever. The Research Plaza had a number of exciting lectures, we had an interesting debate about offshore fish farming, and in good tradition, a number of vessel christenings were carried out at Skansen.

The people in Smia Fish-restaurant also had this to say about the day:

  • Now we have been at Aqua Nor and Nor-Fishing and served our famous fish & chips and clipfish burgers for 8 years – and we have never seen so many people. The queue for our tent has never been so long, and we have never had better turnover.
