FAQ Aqua Nor

How much accommodation capacity is available in Trondheim?
Trondheim has between 4,500 and 5,000 hotel rooms, and nearly twice as many hotel beds. In addition, Airbnb and similar platforms offer a wide and varied selection of accommodation units available for rent during the exhibition days.
During Aqua Nor 2025, more than 2,400 rental units were available in Trondheim on Airbnb alone. Around 800 units remained available during the exhibition, meaning that approximately one-third of the rental properties were not in use. This indicates that there is still available accommodation capacity during Aqua Nor.
Is it true that hotel prices in Trondheim are NOK 7,000–10,000 per room?
It is often suggested that hotel prices in Trondheim are unusually high compared with similar cities and events. This is not correct.
In major cities, the general price level for hotel accommodation has doubled since the pandemic. When comparing hotel prices in Lillestrøm/Oslo during Nor-Shipping and in Stavanger during ONS, hotel prices in Trondheim are on average NOK 200 higher and NOK 700 lower per night, respectively.
The average price for a hotel room in Trondheim during Aqua Nor 2025 was NOK 3,692 per night.
How do stand prices at Aqua Nor compare to other exhibitions?
Stand prices at Aqua Nor are among the lowest in the market compared with other industry exhibitions such as AquaNext, HavExpo, and Global Aqua.
The price level is also significantly lower than comparable exhibitions such as Nor-Shipping and ONS, where stand prices are typically two to three times higher than at Aqua Nor.
Is there a waterside exhibition area?
Aqua Nor has an exhibition area at Skansen, offering a rare opportunity to showcase larger installations in the water—something few other exhibitions in the world can offer.
Here, exhibitors can present everything from feed barges and fish cages to vessels and other large maritime solutions in their natural environment.
The exhibition area at Skansen is currently being expanded further to accommodate more exhibitors and vessels during Aqua Nor.
Are there long distances between the exhibition area, hotels, and restaurants in Trondheim?
Trondheim is a very compact city, which makes it an excellent host city for exhibitions.
There are short distances between the exhibition area and the city centre, where most hotels and restaurants are located. The distance from Trondheim Square (Torvet) to Trondheim Spektrum is approximately 1 kilometre, and the walk takes 10–15 minutes.
It takes 3–7 minutes by electric scooter or bicycle.
There are also shuttle buses and taxis available. Free shuttle buses operate morning and afternoon between all partner hotels in Trondheim and Stjørdal and the exhibition venue.
Does Aqua Nor take place throughout the city?
“One city – one exhibition” describes our vision for the future development of Aqua Nor.
Trondheim offers many excellent venues for seminars, demonstrations, meetings and events, including the outstanding facilities at SINTEF and NTNU. Trondheim’s position as a global leader in this field will be strengthened even further when the Norwegian Ocean Technology Centre is completed.
How do you travel between Trondheim Airport Værnes and the exhibition area?
There are several ways to travel between Trondheim Airport Værnes and Trondheim Spektrum.
Trains run frequently between Skansen Station and Værnes Airport. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the exhibition venue to Skansen Station. The airport bus is also an option. Aqua Nor operates additional airport buses directly between the exhibition venue and the airport. Taxis are also widely available.
Is there a professional programme during the exhibition?
Aqua Nor offers a comprehensive professional programme, starting with the Aqua Nor Conference on the Monday before the exhibition opens and continuing with a wide range of presentations throughout the exhibition days.
The programme also includes panel discussions and conferences addressing key topics within the industry.
In addition to the programme at the exhibition venue, many breakfast seminars, conferences and networking events take place across the city.
The full programme can be found on the Aqua Nor website and in the exhibition app.
Is Aqua Nor relevant for students and recruitment?
Each year, around 1,600 students visit Aqua Nor. Events such as Student Day and Student Camp are organised in close cooperation with NTNU, industry clusters and the seafood industry.
The goal is to highlight aquaculture as an exciting and future-oriented industry, offering many interdisciplinary career opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in the sector.
Aqua Nor may also be one of the industry’s most important recruitment arenas. In the exhibition app and on our website, we highlight exhibitors who are interested in connecting with students.

In recent years, Trondheim has been referred to as Norway’s food capital, with many high-quality restaurants. Talented chefs and exceptional local ingredients are key to this reputation—especially the outstanding Norwegian seafood.
How do you find your way around the exhibition area?
Navigating a large exhibition area can sometimes be challenging. That is why we have implemented several measures to make it as easy as possible for visitors to find what they are looking for.
When arriving at the venue, visitors are greeted by large signage providing a clear overview of the exhibition area. Similar signage is placed both indoors and outdoors throughout the venue.
The exhibition halls also use colour-coded zones to make navigation easier.
The exhibition app is perhaps the best tool for navigating the venue. It includes:
- An overview of all exhibitors and their locations
- Food and beverage options
- Toilets
- Meeting and conference rooms
- Transport options
- Practical information and the full conference programme
The app also includes a map of the exhibition area showing exactly where to go to find what you are looking for.
In addition, it contains a simple map of Trondheim showing hotels, shuttle bus stops and other useful locations.
Did you know that tickets for the events you have registered for during Aqua Nor are available in the exhibition app?
You can also scan QR codes on visitor badges to easily keep track of leads and contacts during or after the exhibition. Exhibition stands also have QR codes on the floor that can be scanned.
