Seminars

Professional highlights
During Aqua Nor a number of seminars, mini-conferences, presentations, lectures and debates are organized to contribute to give visitors an up-date on professional information. Some of these events are organized by the Nor-Fishing Foundation, and others by various institutions, exhibitors and companies.
The Aqua Nor Conference will take place on Monday, August 18, marking the official start of the exhibition week. This year’s theme will be announced at a later date.
The official program will run throughout the exhibition days at Trondheim Spektrum.
Aqua Nor aims to engage the entire city of Trondheim in the event and invites relevant stakeholders to apply for participation in the official program – including events held outside the exhibition area. The application process will open in spring 2025, at which point abstracts can be submitted. It is the program committee that handles the application process. More information will follow.
In connection with Aqua Nor 2025, organizations such as the law firm Wiersholm and Arctic Securities will host their own programs at the exhibition area. Additionally, Akva Group and SalMar will present their quarterly reports.

The Innovation Award, the Environment Award and other awards
Every year various awards are presented to representatives of the industry. The Nor-Fishing Foundation Innovation Award was established in 2003 in order to stimulate innovation among the exhibitors and suppliers in the industry. Over the years, the Innovation Awards has helped bring new ideas to market.
The Directorate of Fisheries’ Environment Award is presented to a producer or supplier who has come up with a solution that helps improve or safeguard the environment. The Award has been presented for many years and is highly regarded by the industry.
Since 2013, the Nor-Fishing Foundation has given the Best Stand Award to the most attractive and efficient stand at the show.

The latest aquaculture technology
Modern aquaculture has become more and more complex and scientific. Norwegian aquaculture is characterized by a systematic application of scientific knowledge. That is why modern aquaculture is often referred to as a knowledge industry based on advanced technology. This relates to all fields: breeding, feed and feeding regimes, biomass measurement, construction and operation of floating cages, nets, safety equipment, well boats, handling of fish, veterinary medicine, vaccines, etc. The very latest of such technology is presented at Aqua Nor.

The Student Day and Student Camp
In order to grow, the industry must appeal to and bring on board the brightest minds. Therefore, the Nor-Fishing Foundation has established the Student Day in collaboration with NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Brohode Havbruk 2050 and regional partners.
All students have access to the exhibition area free of charge all days. The Student Day is arranged on Thurday, the last day of Aqua Nor. A separate seminar will be arranged to inspire the students before they visit the exhibition area. Here students can meet companies and organizations. The Aqua Nor exhibition is an important event where professionals and students can come together to network and explore job and partnership prospects.
From the 18th to the 21st of August, the stage is set for the Aqua Nor Student Camp. Here, 25 lucky students get the opportunity to visit the exhibition, show themselves to the aquaculture industry, and compete for prize money.
