SalMar has announced a strengthened commitment to Aqua Nor – including a decision to present their 2027 half-year financial and operational results during the Trondheim exhibition, in August of that year.

— We consider Aqua Nor the seafood industry’s most important meeting place. The exhibition is also where we as fish farmers discover the latest in aquaculture technology, research, and other industry developments. Therefore, presenting SalMar’s financial and operational results at Aqua Nor makes perfect sense, says Runar Sivertsen, Chief Strategy Officer at SalMar.

Bringing the industry together

By presenting their report at Aqua Nor, SalMar aims to bring investors, partners, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders together in one place.

— Aqua Nor is hosted by and for the seafood industry. Over several decades, the exhibition has proven its ability to unite fish farmers, policymakers, key decision-makers, students, international players, and the supplier industry in a professionally strong forum. That is something SalMar is proud to support, says Sivertsen.

Proximity to the fjord and leading research institutions

Sivertsen highlights the exhibition’s location near the Trondheim fjord, SINTEF, and NTNU as particularly significant.

— Seeing suppliers’ solutions deployed in a real marine environment means a great deal to us. The waterfront venue at Skansen makes Aqua Nor particularly relevant for a farming company like ours, he says.

At the same time, Sivertsen acknowledges that there are areas for improvement.

— We have noticed that hotel prices in Trondheim increase disproportionately during the exhibition period. We expect the hospitality industry to step up and ensure Trondheim maintains its position as an attractive host city for the seafood industry, says Sivertsen.
